Live webcam from the Interpretation Centre of the Natural Park of the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja with views of the lagoon of La Mata. In the extreme south of the province of Alicante is the Natural Park of the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja with an area of 3700 Ha of which 2100 are part of the sheets of water that make up the two lagoons. The lagoons are separated from each other by a hill 1 Km wide and are extremely salty. Both are part of a complex salt extraction system. These two sheets of water are surrounded by vegetation adapted to saline environments and long periods of drought. However, this type of environment is home to an animal community of great interest, highlighting the birdlife that finds important nesting and migratory resting places in this wetland.
